Default any tricks for removing a stuck fly wheel?

subject sums it up I need to redo the bottom end on my scrambler 400. I have fly wheel puller as we speak on my fly wheel and tightened to the point that the impact wrench I am using will not even turn the puller andmore and it still wont come off. Im walking by and shocking it with a hammer ever 30minutes or so but nothing. any ideas for removing it from the other side or anything. I assume I can't fix my bearings without taking it off.

Mine was stuck very bad too. I sprayed the hell out of it with penetrating oil, hit it with a hammer, and eventually it broke free. When it finally broke free, the noise it made was crazy. One of those noises where you are afriad to look because you are sure you just broke something. But it came off.

Ive sprayed some lube on it for acouple hours now. liquid wrench to be exact. I think my keyway may have twisted or something. It ticks me off becuase its keeping me from getting my bearings fixed up.

some if these bearings are a pain to remove.

I am not sure about the lube.
But did you get the Flywheel off yet?
My IR244 (Very good Impact) would not get mine off Either
It was as tight as the impact would get it.
I had a 3ft breaker bar, and a Pry bar between the bolts of the puller(So the flywheel couldn't turn)
It finally broke loose, Same as Troyer said (Thinking something Broke)
My puller bolts were all bent when I was done (1 broke)
It will come, keep tightening your puller, they are that tight. (Make sure you have good thread engagement for you puller bolts(But not too far because they will crach into your stator)
I don't believe lube will do you any good, it is the press fit holding it on.

Lube the bearings with same oil that you use in the fuel, except the one bearing that sits in the counterbalance section. For this one just use regular oil that goes in the counter balancer 30wt.Give the puller a couple good taps,it will come loose.

I tried to use a 3ft breaker bar but with the motor out of the bike theres not much to keep it from just flopping around on the bench.

I beet on this puller for a couple hours just shock after shock. it sucks becuase its holding everything up. well that and some gaskets from dennis kirk...40.00 in shipping for overnight and they still havn;t gone out yet.

ok so I tried the breaker bar method and a bolt just broke on the puller.

a neighbor thinks we can heat it with a torch right at the conection to get the metal to expand and break free. He thinks the stator will be ok concentrating it that close in. Should I try his idea?

There are magnets glued to the inside of the flywheel. I hope the heat doesnt weaken the glue.

Here's what you need to do, since you have it out of the bike, get a new good quality puller back on there and lube all of the friction points with anti-seize. Then throw it in your trunk and go to the nearest good sized auto repair shop. Pull up out side one of the bays (dont go to the office) and ask a tech 'who has the best impact gun?' This will start a little pissin' match kind of like 'my bike is faster than yours' but they will break out the heavy artillary and blast that thing right off.

P.S. I have the IR 2131
