exhaust end cap bolts on 450r broke!!!
#1
today i took off the end cap to clean the spark arrestor and heres what happened... first bolt came out, second one just a couple turns then it siezed. it wouldnt turn in at all or wouldnt turn out. so i tried turning it back in as hard as i could and the head broke off the bolt. then the last bolt did the exact same and broke off too. so now the thing is screwed, its hanging on by one bolt and rattles like hell. i slotted one of the bolts with a dremel wheel and tried turning it with a big screwdriver and its no use, siezed solid! the other one i tried drilling it out and was gonna tap it with a 1/4 inch bolt instead and turns out those bolts are almost impossible to drill out, went through two bits using cutting fluid and barely got anywhere. so what can i do now? can that endcap be welded to the pipe in the bolt holes? or is there some kind of high temp super glue or something that would hold for now? im going on a big trip this weekend so i need something that will hold up temporarily for a couple days of solid riding. i know i need an aftermarket pipe anyway but theres no way i could get one in time plus the re jetting that will need to be done, i need something to fix it right now... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. and has anyone else had this problem?

i would like to borrow someones pipe for the weekend but i live in central alberta canada. this is why aftermarket parts take so long to get. well im leaving tomorrow afternoon so i still need some ideas fast!!!

what exactly is jb weld? i knew there was something like that but wasnt sure what it was called or anything. and that would hold up to the heat and vibration aswell?

It wont hold up to heat or vibration, been there done that.
Get some new drill bits and try it again. or Drill and tap off to the side. Use some sntiseize when you reinstall to help prevent it from happening again!!!
