Hello all. My starter just went bad on my 400 Scrambler 4X4. Did a search, seems this is common. Can it be removed from underneath through the frame? Anyone done this before with any details? Now need to find a source for a cheap starter, or have mine rebuilt. Also, has anyone successfully rebuilt theirs from a kit? Thanks in advance.

 

You can usually get them on ebay pretty cheap. You can also get it rebuilt. Just a little info for you but on the bottom of the starter there is a drain plug that you must pull if you have gone through any standing water. If you dont the water will sit in the starter and corrode the inside. If you drain it , it will last much longer. Most dont know about the drain plug and thats why they have so much problems.
