How long do these thing last? I just repalced it 3 rides ago and the light is on again, I haven't checked it for oil pressure yet but I assume it is the sensor again.

If you get any water in there the go bad. I keep like 7 extra ones in my tool box. I have burnt out like 15 of those FU*%IN things. Usually happens after going in deep water or washing it.

I had mine replaced under warranty by the dealer who installed the newer version that is sealed better. I pressure wash mine after every ride and no problems. I wonder if you could use some sort of shrink tubing that goes over wire connections to keep water out?

Mine went out, I replaced it and when I had it serviced the dealer sealed it in.

If the machine is under warranty, the dealer will install a rubber boot. I've had three go out, then installed the rubber boot last fall and haven't lost one since.
