Default "Still Squeaky Rear Shock"

Hey guys, I followed the advise and pulled the top bolt off of my rear shock and greased the crap out of it. Today was the first time that I have ridden it, and it still squeaks like a b!tch. What the hell is going on? My bike is only 8 months old. I can't believe that my rear shock is already bad. If anyone has a new suggestion, please let me know.

Did you grease the little bushing spacers? Mine squeaks from time to time and I just remove the spacers and grease them and it goes away.

I have found if you overtighten the top shock mount bolt it can still squeak even if greased. Back it off a little and see if the squeak goes away. You still want it pretty snug though.

I thought mine was squeeking but it was my pivot bolt for the swingarm. WD40 that and see if it stops. Its really hard to tell where the squeek is coming from

I am almost 100% that it is the rear shock. It never makes a sound until it heats up and then it's loud as hell. I can put my hand on it and feel the squeak on the shock. I tried to lube the pivot bolt, backed the shock bolt off, and lubed the grommets, and the damn thing still squeaks. I am totally out of idea's. I am thinking about pulling the rear off of my '01 and put it on my '05 just to see. Someone please help. It's driving me crazy, and I don't want to pay a mechanic.

I spray the top bolt and mount with a lubricant, WD-40 or silicone, and it goes away. Good luck.
