Liability? (Lawyers) Can you imagine what some lawyer somewhere (the ambulance chasing kind, not the upstanding citizen type) could get for some dumb kid wrecking a quad going 90? They could argue that having the PVT made it too easy for someone unskilled to drive. Then again, they could go gearshift like everyone else & not have that problem. I, too wish they would, not that I would buy one, but just to not have to hear the same question. Whenever anyone asks me that question I just say because they don't have time to as they cant keep up with the 500 HO Sportsman orders yet. hehe

Actually, you may have hit the nail on the head with Gore. A high-performance machine would no doubt have to be a 2 cycle. What with all the environmentalist hoopla going around right now against the 2 cycle, it might be a bad move. I hear rumors that after 2002 there will be no more 400 engines in Polaris ATVs and what with 2 cycle snowmobiles getting banned from national parks...

It would be a bad move-business wise to intorduce a new machine that had a life of one or two years at most...
Now if they would just shave off some weight on what they already have, that might be the smarter move.
