I smoked a tree tonight high 3rd on my raptor. It tipped uop when I was power sliding from going into the corner too fast and threw me and my raptor into a spruce tree, I bounced my head off of it pretty hard. I was okay but my steering was a bit messed up.

I got it fixed and my nugbone is doing ok...I think. I got a killer headache right now though.

Just figured id let you guys know about my sclose call tonight, because im sure if it would hav been a hardwood tree I might not have made it out of the woods tonight, I think the thick tree branches somewhat cushioned my impact.

think its time to widen the raptors stance a bit.

I was wearing a helmet by the way.

 

How about part stupid and part not knowing how to ride.

 

How about misjudged the corner, and ive been riding for about 14 years.

How about not posting stupid azz comments when people share stories.

 

Amen to that Gwinn .. glad to hear you're alright. Gotta be careful out there and just another good reason to wear a brain bucket!! Did you get checked out for possible concussion? It would really suck to go to bed with a headache and not wakeup .... scary thought, but can certainly happen even with a helmet on!!

 

my girlfriend is a nurse and she looked in my eyes, she said my pupils look fine......dont know what exactly they look for but she said they werent shrink or whatever they do when you have a concussion.

i am feeling better today though.

yeah gotta slower down a bit i think, and i need to lower the raptors height too i think.

She was looking for your pupils to be uneven; It is a great check to know about if one of your riding buds hits his head. Good to hear you were wearing a brain box!

 

ill keep that in mind......id ont get into alot of wrecks and neither do my buds, but thats good info to know.

Hey Gwinnwarrior, it's good to hear that you are okay. I just spent two weeks in the U.P. and in Wisconsin on vacation, and I never saw a single person on a quad wearing a helmet. Don't get me wrong, I saw people riding quads everywhere: on farms, dirt roads, ditches along the highways, kids riding double in their yards, fourth of July parades, etc.... NOBODY wears helmets up there. What's up with that??? I think a 13 year old kid died in the U.P. over the fourth of July weekend when he hit a tree by Newberry. Maybe next summer I'll bring my DS up there to do some riding with ya. (of course I'll have my helmet too)
