This is the reply to an email inquiry regarding aftermarket DS650 plastic availabilty from lakercustom.com


....."we are only a few weeks away from releasing our DS650 plastics. We have
to do some testing before we can sell them. The plastics will be
available in our standard colors and will retail for $395.00 for the
complete set."

 

Cool, I wonder what they look like.

 

Is $400 less than the cost of factory plastic? I'm sure some people would buy them just to be different, but if they cost MORE than factory plastics it'll be a hard sell.

 

I applaud the fact that at least someone is willing to produce aftermarket DS plastic. I believe you can pick up stock plastic from Parker Yamaha for around $300.

What I would like to know.
-Can you order separate peices or do you have to order the whole set?
-What are their "standard colors"?

 

Prices may be a little high to re-coupe the cost of R&D. Later I'm sure the price will begin to be more competitive and a positive will be the addition of another supplier when the dealers are out of stock....

I would drop $395 for a set of new aftermarket plastics!!! Hopefully they'll be alittle sleeker than the OEM plastics.

 

Man, I will buy it since the stock plastic SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never have I owned a quad that you could sratch the plastic just by looking at it. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

 

i can barely wait to see this. i hope it is different some and looks better than stock plastics..
