I stopped into my local dealer today and asked them about the recall and the guy said Honda would be sending out papers on the 19th of this month about the recall to buyers of the Rancher. I asked if the missed a weld on the upper A arm like what was mentioned in here and the guy said NO, there is a bracket that they need to put on. He said it was no big deal , that it would only take 15 minutes or so. well that is what my dealer told me, so take it for what it is worth. Just passing on the info i got.

They already have been installing the brackets here. It is an easy fix.

Cartman, have you spoke to our crappy local dealer about the recall yet? I am tempted to take it to the place I bought it, 180 miles away, because our local dealer is so crappy.

The dealer told me that there was no welding on this but i was still trying to figure out how the bracket was going to be put on and where.
MAOZ, where are you going to take it? South or north up towards me. I live around Ravenswood. There are some dealers in Parkersburg and Marietta.

MAOZ,

I have a 2000 Rancher, but haven't heard yet if it is included in the recall. I'm thinking of taking mine to the Honda dealer in Huntington - The Cycle Center, I believe it is called. I've never had service done there, but I have bought parts & they seem much more competent than our Charleston dealer!

Fellow Rancher Owners: I own two Ranchers myself, and was also worried about the recall. I went to my dealer, who is an excellent dealer. He got the pieces out and showed me on a showroom model exactly where they go and there is nothing to it. It is a u-shaped piece of metal with 3 holes in it. It goes in between the top A arms and one long bolt bolts both A arms and the metal bracket together. Then one bolt comes off of the top of the front rear end and bolts to the bracket. He said 10-15 minutes at the most. He also said that all Ranchers were going to have to have it put on them. Kds
