blew my banshee

earlier 2day i blew only one cylinder in my banshee it still runs and drives but only on one side of the engine the other exhaust jus backfires and its got no power almost now but i was just wonderin is it ok to just have on side of the top end rebuilt or is this bad to do ?

it depends if you seized it and the pistion didnt scratch the cylinder then just flush it out and pop a new piston in but if it was scored then i would definatly get both done so that its balenced. and runs correctly.

i would take the head off and check the cylinder walls. like storj said as long as u didnt score the wall, u can jus put in a new piston and rings and be good to go. if u checked the compression i assume its not seized, so if the compression is low then the rings r worn. do u remember what the old plug looked like when u replaced it with the new one?

lol....I would just make the investment for the banshee hemi head.Sooooooo much more power and more reliable.....I am pretty sure it is a bolt on head.It is no more that 600 bucks i think.Hmmm.....i think....oh well.....And it isnt going to scratch the cylinder walls, all you have to do is get a new piston and a SLEEVE if the SLEEVE is scratched. But i would still get the hemi head.....He he he...

sounds like you need a top end rebuild but before you do anything, you need to find out and correct the problem of why that particular cylinder blew. also you need to do both cylinders for even compression
