honda owners...brand loyalty?
#1
I hope this doesnt deteriorate, into a bash fest. Thats not what im looking for.
I know, some brands have a very loyal following...they will not look at , or buy any other brand of 4 wheeler or motorcycle. I dont need to name them, we all know the brands.
How many honda owners are this way?
I have 2 hondas, but i also have a yamaha, suzuki, and a kawasaki. And when i look for my next wheeler, i wont exclude any brands, but will look over what all the manufacturers are offering, and narrow down my search by features, and price...and not even be concerned about brand. It just so happens, that so far, i havent had either of the unnamed brands, but it doesnt mean i wouldnt have one in the future. They have good points...but when it comes down to what i want, the others are a better choice for me.
How many honda owners are closed minded, and how many are open minded? Im just curious, and wonder how others go thru the buying process. Will you only look for a honda, or could you buy another brand?

I guess I'm fairly brand loyal, but that loyality has been earned. My first Honda was a 1974 50z minibike. My 7 year old rides it now - and it still runs like it was new. I had to put a new carb on it last year, but besides that, it has had next to no maintenance. I have owned a lot of Honda cars, motorcycles, ATVs, and other power equipment over the years and they have all been outstanding.
I'm sure other brands are good as well, but I have always had good luck with Hondas, so I will always look at them first. If I ever get ahold of a "bad" Honda (and I'm sure they exist), I will most likely try something else. But so far, Hondas have been very good to me.

I have two Hondas. Rancher and Rubicon. (2000 & 2001) If I were in the market for something new, I wouldn't be opposed to looking other brands. There are some things about Hondas I like, and other things I think they are just too far behind generation wise. So I know I'd shop around.

I am by no means brand loyal. BUT, I do have my favorites. I do not like the Honda utilties, but I do like their sport quads. I will admitt that I do favor Yamaha's (gasp!!) But that comes from many years of good "luck" from them. I am looking forward to the same from our 2 Honda's and that is one of the main reasons I bought them. I hope they don't disapoint!! I believe that finding a quad that "fits" both the rider and the riders pocket book is more important than brand loyalty. Its more fun riding than talking trash on your butt behind a computer!!

im around basically only hondas and kawasakis. My cousins and friends have a hondas and love them and so do I. Back when i was looking for my first atv i wanted a recon but found a good deal on a bayou. Well i beat the crap out of that thing. Countless miles of no problem riding. Thats why i stuck with kawi and i have no problems with the 360 either. about 2 thousand miles right now on it and hopfully allot more.

I am loyal to those that are loyal to me. I had a blaster and never had a problem with it. only had to change/clean the plug once in almost 2 years! my honda has been good to me as well, but now i am looking for a Raptor (cringe). i know they have been prone to some problems but no one else offers a quad that compares to it.

my first bike was a yamaha warrior 350 but when i wanted to upgrade, yamaha didnt offer a vehicle that i wanted because i thought the raptor would be to big, so i bought a honda 400ex

I am fairly brand loyal to a brand that has been loyal to me.
Right now there are no ATV's out there that interest me. I don't like the way belt driven ATVs drive, it like they only have one gear and I don't like manual transmissions.
When we looking for our first ATV we had no idea what we would come home with, we had ridden Polaris (thats what I thought we were going ot buy, an '01 yellow SP500 HO), Yamaha, and a Honda Foreman 400. I was not sold on any of them.
The salesman at the dealer told me to at least ride a Rubicon. I was not interested due to the boxy appearance, it was in 4-wd all the time, and I didn't like the "push button" transmission. I did take it for a ride in ESP. I rode it about 100 yards and came back and told him we would take a Red one.
With 5600 miles and $20 in repairs, I am impressed.
Others are faster and have some real nice features, but not one has a Hondamatic Transmission.
