There shouldn't be any problems useing 102mm base and head gaskets on a stock bore cylinder right?? TIA

will probably get you up and going, but the proper sized gaskets are no more than 30 or 40 bucks, why mess with it for that amount of $

 

whats the stock bore? 100mm? if so, I would try to avoid it. THe metal sealing ring on the gasket wont be in the right spot and the top edge of your cylinder will be away from the ring, and the edge could get red-hot since the ring is too far away to absorb the heat, so you could get some nasty pinging action going on. Trust me, I'm an auto technician and i remember this topic in school. Go with the correct gaskets, you could wreck your engine if you go with the oversized ones.

 

102mm Cometic would work ok for 100mm stock bore but I would use OEM 100mm if I had the choice. I've used 102mm Cometics for 101mm bores with no problem at all.

 

Standard Cometics work for 100mm - 102mm bores.

 

What I have are Cometic 102 mm base and head gaskets. I have a couple sets and would use one of them in place of the OEM if there will be no issues.
