Sorry for you. Wait till you need that extra 250cc. Cant wait! Sled? My old man had a z400 and it wouldnt even make it up comp as Dumont. Thats was with a few mods. About the only thing a Z400 is good for, is wheelies and 12 year old kids. AMF! (adios mother f'er)

That's odd... ask learnem or Blackhawk about when I was tearing it up on my dad's z400. Not really anything that I was not able to climb at Dumont, just not as fast as I would on my DS! Only mod was a yoshi slip on and gecko paddles. I think the z400 is a great all around quad, just doesn't shine in any one particular type terrain.

I have both a ds and kfx 400 I love the 400 heck of a lot more nimble than a ds for sure. I have more fun riding the 400 it's just easier. I'm 6'2" 295 too when I'm on the 400 it looks like I'm riding a ****- ant lol but it don't bother me what one might think , F em who are they? It's not allways about who's faster, Nerds THey must have a small *****
kfx 400 get you sum

Everyone has an opinion on which bike is best. I love my DS and wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm just too big for a Z400. A close friend has a Z400 and that bike rocks with the few minor aftermarket mods he's applied. He loves his Z400 and wouldn't trade it for any other machine. This is why there's a GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, etc. To each, his own. In the end, it's all about having fun on the trails and dunes. Have fun!

I've got a DS and 400EX and they both have their niche. The 400EX is really easy to throw around and control on tight trails. But, being 6'3" and 230, it doesnt have enough power for me most of the time, that's why the wife rides it

Something new is always fun . Good job keeping the DS though, because there is nothing else like it. Anytime you feel like riding a bull in a china shop you can go for a ride on the DS. Their size and pure unadulterated brutish grunt just has to make you laugh, because it is so overkill. Then when you feel the need for more surgical precision you can go for a ride on your flea flicker Z400. Sounds like you've got the best of both worlds to me.
I have both extremes in ATVs as well, and it works great. The DS650 is like riding an open class motocrosser, and the Banshee is like riding a featherweight 125cc motocrosser. I get a kick out of both of them.
