02 foreman es

Ok, i started it up and let it run for a minute, then i flip the light switch on and the screen goes blank and the unit shuts off, what gives? I checked the fuses and one of them blew, in that set of two fuses, they are supposed to be 30A and the idiot who owned it before had two 25A in there, well one of those blew. So what do i do now? Starter button won't do anything, lights won't turn on, and the screen won't light up. But i can turn the key, pull start it, and it will shift. Any ideas?

How bout you try replacing the fuse that blew with the correct size. If that doesn't work, who knows what's wrong with it.

Replace the fuse, if it blows again, go looking for shorts in the wiring. Make sure your battery cables are in good shape, and there is nothing rubbing on the wiring anywhere from the lights to the battery. Trace back every inch, may even have to remove some of the plastics. Dont install a fuse greater than whats supposed to be there though, instead of the fuse blowing, the wire will melt and maybe start a fire.

I agree, replace the fuse with the proper one, then turn off the light, and try going key on. If everything is working ok...then turn the head lights on again. did the fuse blow again? Sounds like a short in the headlight wiring.
Let us know what you find.

Replaced the fuses with correct ones, and still nothing. I can still pullstart it, and shift, and also the 12volt outlet on the side of the headlight works.

So is the starter button, display and lights wired together somewhere, going to the same place?

i had that happen to my kawi and it did the same thing as yours it would start with the pull cord but nothing worked but i was able to ride it back to my truck and load it with out a problem.
and when i got it home i checked all the fuses and found the main fuse had blowen and it also was a 30 amp.
i changed the fuse and it worked fine after that.
my main fuse was not in with the rest of the fuses so maybe look around to see if there is another hiding somewhere.
good luck.

There is another holder for the main fuse, its a smaller rubber housing close to the main fuse box. The fuse is just a flat piece of metal, and there should be a facorty spare in there.

not likely unless it got wet. Check the fuse first, if you cant find it, the bikes owner's manual shows you where its at.
