Default Modding Dinli DB 50

We do a lot of trail riding, my daughters 2005 dinli 50 needs a little something more for for the not so flat trails. What are some mods I can do. I was thinking about bigger tires for more ground clearance. I know if I get bigger tires I will probably need more power. Not really wanting to tear the motor apart to mod it. What can I do to get what I want, or am I beating a dead horse here. Any advice will help.

There's a lot you can do. First suggestion would be a high compression head. With the trail riding you are doing removing the stock air box may not be an option because of water but may be an area you consider. You can put a pipe on it to give it a good deal more punch but you'll have to rework the clutches to compensate for it. Don't get discouraged, there's enough aftermarket parts on the market to get far more power than you're looking for.

Yea I really didn't want to have to mod internally(spelling). What will a bigger front sprocket do? I was told to go to a 13 tooth front sprocket. But not sure.

I also have a 05 dinli DB and was wondering what kind of carb is on the machine and where I can get jets for it. I want to do some mods to the little machine, starting with the airbox, to let the thing breath and it is not a mikuni and not sure what it is.

It moves out pretty good now, about 23-24 mph by gps, just looking for a little more with simple implovements

thanx all

The 50's come stock with a 13T front sprocket. You can go up to a 16 but it may not pull well off the line. The carb is a Walbro, for jets I'd look at WRH, Hetrick or Team Sims. Others probably have them but I'm sure these three do have them in stock.

Yea it was a 16 tooth I was told to use. How would it work for trail riding and would it help pull bigger tires.

It'll do just the opposite of what you're looking for. With the 16T front you'll loose bottom end but gain top end and make it harder to pull larger tires. If you want more bottom end and are willing to sacrafice top end try a 36T rear.

Maybe try putting a 70cc top end on it, it'll wake it up a good bit.
