Eiger 400 auto, Honda Forman ES, Honda Rancher AT, and the Vinson Auto.

Any help would be great as the websites do not list this info for these machines.

I don't know the tow rates of these machines but I can give you a good guess. I would say they will all be about the same around 800 lbs. to 900 lbs. The Suzuki Vinson will be the strongest then the Honda Foreman, Suzuki Eiger and Honda Rancher. These are all some of the best quads out there right now. The best towing atvs are the Arctic Cats.

Actually I hope you are wrong as the 400 Kodiak with a single speed transfer case can tow 1100#. The Arcticat 400 Auto can tow 1050#.

I found the tow rating of the Suzuki Eiger 400 is 992 lbs. and the Suzuki King Quad 700 is 998 lbs. so go figure.

Under the Suzuki Forum under Does The Eiger Tow? and under Tow power Grizzly vs. KQ. The tow rating of the Suzuki Vinson is 880 lbs. The tow rating of the Honda Rancher 400 AT is 800 lbs. The tow rating of the Honda Foreman ES is 850 lbs.

Atvs will push a truck or car the tow rating means a safety rating like towing a log with a cable. Most atvs will tow past there tow rating.

Here is some other tow ratings of other atvs.

Dillon Dynamometers are designed to measure tension forces or weight. The manual reset red colored hand indicates maximum force applied for each individual test with an error rating of ±0.5%. It has been calibrated through dead weights and its accuracy traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The scales are used by strapping the shackle on one end to an immovable object, and the other end to the quads' tow hitch or rear axle.
Please don't confuse the figures below with maximum tow capacity as we're not measuring rolling load. Nor is this a calculation of overall engine torque. The quads' pulling power is only measured to the point where the quads drive wheels spin. All the test quads will spin the tires before running out of power so this tension measurement is a better indicator of "tire traction" and pulling capabilities of a particular size and tread type tire utilizing the constant variable of asphalt. No doubt, these figures would be lower on a dirt surface. All tests are performed using the same weight rider on the same surface in low gear and where applicable, four-wheel drive and low-range.

Interesting.

Maybe the Mags should include a similar test for the utility shootouts?

Thanks again. It was helpful. I do like to compare "apples to apples" so to speak so a factory tow rating would be good to compare to the other factory tow ratings, if you know what I mean.

On another note, I am glad thee are others that like to help people. I am the same way and get frustrated when I see so many others try to prove people wrong or force there type of machine on everyone else.

WIth my Arctic Cat 400 I have towed a 1977 F-150 4 miles, my Bronco II 1.5 miles, and a super heavy boat around the yard. AC list the rating at 1050, mostly due to the ability to stop. So any one of those ATV's will tow what you hook up to it providing the traction is there and you don't go down a really steep hill! Oh, not sure about other brands, but AC uses a 2" receiver hitch. Very handy. If you do a lot of towing you might want to look for one with this feature. Good luck!
