#1
Can someone please tell me how to seperate the rear shock linkage from the swingarm. I have to get this off so i can replace all the bearings and clean it up but cant really see how to get it off. I havent really spent to much time trying to figure it out but thats the beauty of forums like this. Any advice would be a big help. Thanks in advance guys, and check out my pics of her going together, lemme know what you think so far.

need to take the rear shock off . that will let the swing arm move more them the swing arm will piviot down enough to take the bolt that goes throught the big part of the bearing . then there is a big bolt just under the front of the swing arm that needs to come out also . the swing arm needs to be un bolted and moved up slightly to get it out . hope that helps

Thanks for the reply donzilla. I do have the swingarm completely off the bike and the shock is also off. The problem is I havent figured out how to get the shock link apart from the swingarm. There was a bolt going through originally but thats been taken off. It seems like I am missing something here.

Zilla pheen there are only three bolts in the cushion lever. One bolt attaches the cushion lever to the frame. The other bolts the shock to the cushion lever. And the third goes thru the swingarm If you have that one out. Just use a round pry bar and push it out sometimes they can be in there pretty tight. But if the bolt is out nothing else is holding it exept gunk. And remember there are four bearings in the cushion lever.

no prob pheen ! and like rooster said if you have the big bolt that goes through the swing arm and the piviot bearing out ,, then take a prybar and pry it out . it is in there tight . the book says to use a drift punch in the holes of the piviot and walk it out with them . let us know if you get it out or still having problems .

Ok guys, I got it out. It was just wedged in there like you said don, i took a rubber mallet and whacked it a couple times and it's out. I just wasent sure if there was a spacer or something going through there. Thanks for the help guys. Got a question for you though, would it be wize to maybe take my axle to a wire wheel to get the rust all off, then maybe polish it??? I know its steal but cant I maybe clear coat the heck out of it to maybe seal up the shine. I just cant bring myself to put it back together all rusty like it is being everything on the bike has been painted and looks great. Lemme know what you guys think or maybe you might have a better idea. Thanks again
