I'm thinking about converting the RECON front brakes to disk. I was wondering if the recon hubs would mount on 250ex spindles and rotors. I can get the rotors, spindles, hubs and calipers off a junk bike. The wheels are already gone though.

I don't want to buy new front tires yet. The recon is 4 /110 pattern and the ex is 4 /144 i think.

 

I can't get the front brakes to work well. The quad is lees than a year old and you can hold the brake all the way down and not lock the tires. I have bled the system. I have adjusted the brakes until they will not turn and tried it. The lines are either stretching or the brakes just suck. I have no "Pedal" as you would say.

It worked fine new for a while. I could flip myself with the brakes.

 

I've been thinking down the same lines. In fact I was thinking of putting the plastic and racks of the Recon on the frame of the 250ex. That way you'd get the brakes and suspension of the 250 ex, but also the utility of the Recon.
