Free Brute 750 for the taking
#1
We had a little bad luck on our trip to Colorado last week end. My dad brought his Brute and his king, I took my Twin Peaks 700 and SP800. My brother inlaw was on dad's Brute when we were riding up a narrow ledge to a old cabin at the top of the mountain, dad and I were up at the cabin taking pictures when my brother was comming up the trail about 75 feet away from were we were standing, I saw a rear tire slip in the rocks about 2 turns and it slipped of the edge, dad yeld jump, he did but the bike was a gone it cartwheeled and endo all the way down, she is RIP in the bottom of a colorado mountain, There was no way to get it out, so there she rest in peace or shoud I say peaces. Anyone in real good shape and adventerous wanting to launch a rescue mission its yours if you can get it out. My brother inlaw scaled down the mountain to get his rack bag, he said the motor still looked good but there was allot of damage to the rest of the quad. He took my camera with him, I will try and put up a pic or two tommorow of what is left of it. We are all counting our blessings that my brother inlaw was ok, and made it off the quad befor it went down the mountain.
Oh, I almost forgot on our way back to the cabin my brother inlaw was riding double with me when my dad's KQ EFI shot crapps and died, so we had to pull him back. His KQ went out of waranty 2 weeks ago but it has less than a 100 miles on it. The next day after regrouping, we went back to see if there was anyway for us to get it out, after my dad borrowed a friends quad and my b-inlaw was on my Sp800 and I was on the my twin peaks I cut a tire on the twin peaks to top it off. What a trip!!!!

cc1999, that is one hell of a story man, glad to hear that the family was OK. I am an engineer and I just heard this morning that one of our customers 10 year old sons took a spill on his dirt bike and he was lifelined to recieve pins, and a plate in both his leg and shoulder. Bottom line is, the quad can be replaced, your brother-in-law cant. I would have to say that the good news far overshadowed the bad. Did you have the beast insured? Does this mean that there is an 06 Brute in your near future?? Ride safe and have fun.

You said he scaled down and retrieved his bag - can you get a line on it with a winch?? Cant wait to see the pics - and I am in Ohio so it is kinda far for me to get it...........but then again I am due for some vacation time.........HHHHHMMMMM

It is hard to judge distance in the mountains, But its safe to say the closest a truck with a winch could get would be at least a half mile away. its closer to the top where it fell off but the trail is not really safe for a quad much less a truck, that was why we went to the top to turn around at a little old cabin that was all buy its self. The ledge is to narrow to turn around on and there is a sign that say's no trucks or jeeps.
The pics are to large I am trying to figure out how to resize them to get them to work.
I always insure my quads, but my dad does not. But at this point he just said "F" it just glad b-inlaw was ok. I herd today on another forum that its not leagal to leave it there, so I thought if some adventures sole wanted it bad enough they could have it for getting it out of there. Dad will just buy another one, We were tryng to trade it for a Outy 800 before we left but never found one, now he does not have to screw with trading. He was also Pissed off at the KQ for stranding him on the mountain with its falty EFI, he said he was trading it for somthing else also.

My bud's brother-in-law endoed my bud's BF750. Had his girlfriend with him, had never ridden a quad, was told to stay in the yard, went up a dirt-bike trail behind the ranch onto blm land. Not one of us in the group I ride with (75 riders) said they could have ridden that trail on a quad....the only good thing about it, the girl wasn't hurt. He was banged up but so what. He had been warned 4 times. Now he wants my bud to pay for his E.R. expenses. Also everyone has to sign a waiver who wants to ride thru his ranch to the blm hills.
