stock 34mm bored running out of gas?
#1
i just put my 97 explorer 400 back together after trail modding and i seem to be sucking the carb bowl dry. when running hard for extended period if you back off then nail it again it sputters for a second and if you nail it for a while it eventually dies. but it starts right back up. runs fine. do i need a hi-po fuel pump?

Stuff a rag underneath the carb to keep it from vibrating for a quick test . Sometimes the harmonic vibration of the engine will foam the fuel in the float bowl and make it seem like it ran out of gas .
