Some people like factory Oil Injection, some people don't. Some people have to remove OI because of a racing pipe and other's don't. Some people remove their OI system because they can't get their spark plug color stablized. If you are happy with your plug color, are running stock parts &/or "trust" your mini's factory OI system, then perhaps you can leave it??? Many people have factory OI system in place and are very pleased with it.
If you do decide to remove your factory OI, surf many pictures within: http://community.webshots.com/album/130997005nxNiAA/0
Many of these pictures apply to the other minis. A single throttle cable can be purchased from www.terrycable.com and a filler plate can be created from a thin plate of metal. Worked for me....

Injector pumps will work for a very long time with no troubles, but the down side is when they decide to fail they usually do so without warning. When this happens you typically end up seizing the top end and or grenading it. But.... in defense of these systems, we had a 1989 Blaster until 2002 with the stock injector system and it never failed. Typical reasons to remove the system are: (1) Avoid possible failure (peace of mind. (2) Allows use of different pre-mix oils @ different ratio's: 32:1, 40:1. (3) Slight per-formance gain (stock system tends to provide more oil than is really needed). (4) Complete removal tends to shave a little weight off (racing crowd), and reduce a little drag on the motor. My son races TT on an LT80 and for the above reasons we elected to remove the injection system on it. With regard to pre-mixing, I have run various ratio's in my 2 strokes (50:1, 40:1 & or 32:1) and never had a motor failure. I most often run them @ 40:1 with a "Full synthetic" oil. Synthetic oils are slicker, and so higher ratio's can be run. If you semi-synthetics or any other types I 'd stay @ 32:1. If the ATV is used for tame/casual riding, I'd just leave it alone. If it's ridden pretty hard frequently, I probably remove the system. Yes.. block off plates are available and they usually come with a gasket. Timing on this thread was kind of coincidental....as I just yesterday removed the injector system, and installed a block off plate on my son's sons 2003 Blaster yesterday (his future 2006 TT ride).
