01 Honda Recon with no fire
#1
I have a 2001 Recon that stopped running one day. I wasn't getting any fire. I replaced the plug and still no fire. I checked the coil it's ok. I even replaced the cdi module and still no fire. There's a fuse under the seat, it's okay too. What else could it be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

They corrode and ground out. Take it apart and try bypassing it or check it with a multimeter for continuity
I bought a lawnmower like this once for 20 bucks. I sold it for 500 after I put a new switch in it.

I think theres more than one fuse...are they all good?
The kill switch will still allow starter operation, but wont let spark happen.
Do you have a nuetral light?
What were the circumstances of it not running? You just parked it, and now it wont fire? Did it get swamped?
How did you check for spark? Holding the plug against the head, and spinning it over, and looking for spark?

I only found one fuse I'll keep looking for another one. Yes I have a neutral light and it is on while I'm trying to start the engine. When my recon died I was riding in a grass field in 2nd gear. I was just putting along and it cut off. I don't ride this atv in the mud or water. It stays in the yard or the field mostly. So theres no corrosion on any connections that I can see. To check for spark I put the plug onto the head and looked for a spark. Where would the kill switch be located on the recon?

The kill switch is the red switch above the starter button, but with recons if the motor cranks then the kill switch has to be in the run position. There is only one fuse on a recon, which is required for the motor to even crank. I would start by checking for bad wiring around the cdi and work your way front there's probably a wire that got pinched or broke.
