I have a 2004.5 SP 500 HO with a front brushguard and a warn winch, so the front sags a little bit. I was wondering if I can adjust this in anyway. I just want to stiffen it up a little bit.

Thanks
Ty

I just had 700 springs installed today. The front sits about 2-3 inches higher, but I think that is exaggerated because the stock springs were just about shot. I would've taken before/after shots, but the dealer kindly installed them for me because they already had my machine there (I told them I'd install them myself, but I picked it up a few days late so they thought they'd put them in no charge, great dealer).

With the weight of my brushguard, winch, and plow mount, there was only about 1" of travel left in the front with the machine sitting with no one on it. Now it sits about 1" from the top of the travel. So a great gain in gr clearance and ride quality.

Should hold the plow a lot higher, before with the plow up it was sitting on the bump stops.

Definetly worth the 60 or 70 dollars.

We are currently working on new set of springs for all of the sportsmans. They will be stiffer over all but they wil have a soft feel to them for the small choppy stuff and get nice and stiff once close to bottoming. We should have more details in the months to come.

I'm sure those will be a great product as well, but the 700 springs did the job for me. A lot less bottoming and smoother ride. It still bottoms out, but it just rides like when it was brand new (new springs and no extra weight on the front).

Thanks for asking POLARISSportsman500HO, I had the same question except I have an 2004 Sportsman 400. Just wondering if the springs from the 700 would fit on the 400?? Any help would be appreciated.

I should have said above, I put mine on my 400.

I forget I have two sportsmans now .

Only thing you have to worry about is that the 05's and up have different front struts (from the scrambler) that are longer. Therefore, no need to upgrade, the stock ride is amazing.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I think I will be going to my dealer on Monday to pick up some 700 springs. Sounds like this will fix my problem.

One other question....are they hard to install?

Thanks again

TY

I was going to install them myself, but when I got there, they had done it for free. What the plan was is that they were going to compress them for me and strap them down like that with zip ties or something, because I don't have a spring compressor at home. So just ask your dealer to do that, installing should be easy, just removing that top nut on the shock tower.
