PVT cover bolt torque
#1
In the service manual it says "PVT Inner Cover Bolts 12 ft. lbs."
So, I set the inch # torque wrench to 144 inch #'s. I couldn't get the bolt to that torque.
The spec must be lower. Anyone know what it is? Any thoughts?

That is a heII of a queastion....I just looked in the maintenace manual....Did'nt see it anywhere.
I know they are course threaded screws. I have a knack for that kind of thing and its not a problem.....
somebody that knows will chime in here

I just usually go around the cover a few times and make sure they are snug. Always the perfectionist.
GE4x4, I can't wait until you get a long test ride on the new outlander so you can tell us how it compares to the sp800.
I noticed in the manual that it says to periodically drain the recoil housing. That bolt is not in an easy area to get to. Is it really necessary? I don't go in much water, but the manual said moisture will build up in there.
Thanks.
