Default Strange rattle or noise coming from rear end....

I was out riding a week ago and notied that everytime I hit a bump while on the gas I would hear a noise, sounded like the chain slipping. I raced it the next day and it kept doing it, and got worse, it would do it going up steep hills too. Like I said, it sounded like the chian slipping, but the bike wasnt hesitating at all, just making a noise. I run a chain tensioner and a skid plate and noticed that the tensioner had been hitting the plate, so I thought that was the noise. I took the plate off and it kept doing it. I checked the cahin and sprockets and they still look like new, I know the chain isnt slipping because the tensioner hold it very taught. My next thought was that it was something in the tranny. I pulled it out tonight and pulled it apart, I dont know much about the inside of these, but it all looked ok to me. There were no visible signs of heavy wear or any broken pieces.

The only other thing I can think of is the tensoiner itself. The bearing where the grease fitting is seems to be worn out. It has a lot of play in it. I am thinking that almost has to be what it is. Has anyone had this problem? Would the worn bearing cause this noise?

Any other ideas?

Thanks guys.

is the chain tight, otherwise it could be the rear bearings

There are no missing teeth on the sprockets. The chian in the tranny seems a little loose, but I dont know how tight it is supposed to be.

Its a Sport 400.
