Default Dont ride your 4 wheeler but keep making payments.

This recall thing is gettin me really POed. I have called 2 of my local dealers atleast once a week and they keep saying we ordered a large quanity of the recall parts but hey havent arrived. I told the one dealer yesterday " Thats like me saying I'll make payments when I get the money." Why do I have to keep making payments on a lawn ornament. They screwed up NOT us. We made the Prairie and Brute Forces what they are Not them. Sorry but I am just blowing off steam......

Hey man, here's a good one for you. I had the exact problem of the recall happen to me about 4 months ago; the ball joint shaft loostened in the nuckel on both sides. It cost me aprox. $1100 Can. to get it fixed . They would'nt warrenty it, saying it was caused by abuse. When I received the recall , I had to fight with my dealer to get my money back. I had to threaten to bring them to court if they didnt come good. They did but did'nt pay back the labor. Now they got to do it all over again with the recall parts at their expense (parts and labor) . They still don't have any recall parts here either. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still ride but I check them very often for loosening.

Aryan , LOL i posted just about this same message in another forum.I wished we could just stop making the payments, but that would just screw our credit up. My dealer told me to fax him my recall notice and he would order the parts and put me on the list, right now it would be 4 to 6 weeks. I think a smart dealer would order a truck load of parts and advertise that he was fixing the recalls , @ $70 an hour he would be making some serious change. But of course we are talking about a dealer, not too many around here are that bright

The problem is not with the dealers themselves . There is only so many parts available at the current time and Kawasaki has a vast dealer network to supply . Each dealer is supposed to receive a portion of the parts based on how many units they sold . As more parts become available they will be shipped to the dealers accordingly . I hope this makes sense .

Hellyeh try asking the Dealer what and how long it would take for them to get their money for the Prairies and Brute Forces if Kawai could'nt get them the money for a real long period of time. They would go nuts. They would have that problem solved real quick. I think it would be funny for all of us to goto our local dealers and wait in the show room and when someone walks in and looks at a Prairie or a BF tell them. " Hey you might really not wanna buy that. The front wheel can fall off and you will be waiting Months before the dealer can fix it. But you can keep making payments or put in your front yard as a nice lawn ornament or mail box stand. Or just haul it around on a trailer. I gotta calm down. I am about to go Postal on a nerd dealer with my SKS. See if I could ride my Prairie without thinking I'm gonna go into a turn and eat a Oak tree I would be a very happy person.

Well reading straight from my recall notice it says "parts will be available in limited quantities initially " . I asked my dealer (actually a good one ) , and he told me they were shipping out limited amounts to try and supply every dealer with some parts to get started on repairs . If one dealer did not sell as many units as another dealer , then they will get less kits initially . They recommend you take it back to the dealer you bought it at to simplify the record keeping of repairs done . That doesn't mean you have to , they just recommend it .

The only way I would take it back to where i bought it was if I had no other choice. My dealer is an a$$ and shafted me on the deal. If i wasn't so anxious to get it I would have went some where else.
