Is there such things as to much air flow on a 300ex?? i took off the stock air filter and bought a fake *** k&n air filter meant for a car...lol now when i ride it makes a loud bogging kinda sound...not sure if this is a good thing or not... ? all comments appreciated [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

You are hearing the sounds of the engine pulses echoing back into the air box, this is normal when you pull the lid, also, did you rejet? Stock, it only pulls air through 2 little tubes, if you open the whole top like that, you will need to go up 2 or more jet sizes on the main, or you will run lean, and possibly do some damage. What filter did you use, did it require any reworking, or just clamp right in? By fake K&N, do you mean like those Fram Air Hogs, or something else?

 

Well what i did was bought an "intimadator" air filter...pretty budget but its the same sytle filter as the k&n...it clamped right on with no adjusting done except i had to crack that little stick thing thats in the airbox, so that i could fit the new air filter in... the lid to the airbox wont even fit back on if bc the filter is to high...should i just put the stock filter back on? and drill holes on the lid, or just leave it as is...im kinda lost, dont want any damage being done to my motor bc of some p.o.s air filter... lol thanks dude
