I have an 01 recon that is mainly used to do a little work around the house pulling a lil trailer etc. and when I go ride with my ute riding friends. It has been smoking bad for a lil while now and losing power. I finally got the time to tear it down yesterday, well the piston needs to be changed...the cylinder is scratched and the side of the piston is also..that is the power loss pretty much...but anyway it is hard to find a piston for this thing. I know I can get one through my local stealer for a pretty penny but what about aftermarket companies...wiseco does not show one. If possible since I have to replace the piston I would consider bumping up the compression a little bit for a little more bottom end power. will the 250ex piston work? or does anyone know companies that make pistons for the recon. I have found them for all the old atc's and pretty much alot of other honda models but nothing for the good ol recon
