Default Does anyone have MudLite XTRs or 589s

Does anyone have the Mudlite XTRs? Im curious as to which is the better tire between the two. I read someones review and test session they had with them on a Polaris and they praised them up and down on every category and said they were the best all around tire out so far. But I want some more opinions and research on them before I make sure they are what I get. Im ready to get some new 26" tires on my 04 Kodiak 450 and I cant decide which one. If they perform almost the same in the mud as the 589, then I think Im gonna go with the Mudlite XTR because I think they are a radial tire and should be a bit smoother ride for trails and paths. Any info on the characteristics and performance of these tires would be greatly appreciated! I want my choice to be the best one.

The 589's are pretty smooth on the trail and have good tread life, but are darn heavy. I would try the XTR's.

I have an '05 Sportsman 400 (the smallest engine of the Sportsmans) and I put 589's on my quad to upgrade from stock. Long story short, I love them and am EXTREMELY satisfied that I chose them over MudLites. I cannot tell a BIT of powerloss in moving to the heavier 589's. One thing I love about them is that they have cross-tread (running side to side) which enables me to powerslide, YES I said I can powerslide, ON AN IRS QUAD.

They aren't quite as smoothe as the stock 489's, but thats what you give up for traction in mud and up hills.

I love love love these tires.

I don't have the XTR's, but do have the standard Mudlites...and also have the 589's...but 27" on my '05 Polaris 700 EFI....its a hard call on what I prefer, but have the 589's mounted right now because they wobble less at higher speeds....both do well in mud, but ride okay on rough surfaces....the 589's perform alittle better in pure mud, especially in reverse....

The XTR's cant keep with the 589's, they are heavy but ride smooth on trails and go with the best in the mud
