Man was I glad to find this form. Last week I bought my first ATV, its a 1996 Mag 425 6X6. I only had it a couple of days and it stuck in reverse. I got it out and adjusted the linkage but it did it agine. I bought a manual but hadnt figured anything out yet, then today I found this form and I hope I found the awnser. Ill know as soon as I pull the cap off of the shifter and check the oil.

If anyone has anything to tell me that I should know about Im all ears.

Would the shifter move when the bike was shut off?
If not go over the linkage, possibly something fongu in the case.

 

It dosnt make any diffrence if the bike is running or not. Im in hopes that the problem is that the shifter case is low or out of oil.
