Default Need some advice on purchase

Greetings and thank you in advance for your time. I am looking to purchase a 50cc quad for my 4yr old son. Have been on E-bay, and numerous web-sites and my head is spinning.

Not sure what the best bang for the buck really is. The meercats are all free shipping and only $500 or $600 tops but not sure about the quality and safety. If anyone has any input or advice, I would really appreciate it! Also, not so sure about these companies that offer the drop shipping because they do factory direct sales, anyone out there have had any experience with any of them?
My main concern is having a governor and a remote kill.

Scott,

I was in a similar situation. I ended up getting a 50 from raceway. I'd be more than willing to discuss with you what I've learned, our experience with the quad, etc. Send me you phone number and when would be a good time to call. jkbochantin@charter.net.

For service reasons, I would go to a local dealer. Just my opinion

I would look at the Eton,or the name brands. I have one of those 600.00 quads I would be more than happy to sell you. Tired of mowing around it. Paid 650.00 shipped to my door. Plus another 300.00 service work at the Honda shop. Not sure whats worse the money or the disapointed look on my daughters face when it wouldn't run.

Just my opinion..

I am looking to purchase a quad for my 4 year old daughter (approx. 40 lbs. and a little over 3ft. tall). I have it narrowed down to a 70 E-ton or Yamaha 50 or Yamaha 80. Any opinions?

Those 6-packs work pretty good.

Most 4 year olds will need a micro mini. I'd look at the Kasea micros (has a cvt). Or possibly a used Kawasuki 50 if I found a good deal.

I thought that maybe the Yamaha 50 would be the better choice because the size of the 2005 Yamaha 50 seems to be right in line with the 80, just about 6 lbs lighter and smaller motor. I have heard good and bad about the Eton. Of course the dealership that sells the Yamaha says that I will have nothing but problems with the Eton. I know the resale of the Yamaha would be good. She is a pretty responsible 4 year old, but I don't want to get her one that I can't throttle down enough to keep her in line.

Go ask the Honda dealer what they think of Yamaha. Eton's are pretty solid. If you buy a micro, you will need to upgrade in a year or two. BUT make sure your kid can get his or her hiney off the seat b4 you buy anything. If not, they may get a short flight over the handle bars.

Well, I live in a town that has one main dealer- MidOhio Suzuki/Yamaha/Honda/Kawasaki. My husband bought his quad from a dealer an hour away because he wanted a Polaris (about 6 years ago). There is a Polaris dealer now within about 30 minutes of us that sells both Polaris and Eton. My daughter is pretty long legged, but I think that I am going to be better to go with a 50 cc with it being her first quad. I have heard good things about Eton, but am afraid of not knowing the name very well and resale of the quad in a couple years. I thought with going with the Yamaha Raptor 50 I would be going with a known name and the dealership said that out of the 4 brands that was the least serviced in the past year. I really need some help in deciding which way to go. I am not concerned with cost of purchasing it new, just reliability of what I buy as we do not want to run into having a quad in the shop and sinking $ in it all the time.
