Wet Belt - Bad seal ??
#1
I was out riding my Sportman 700 today and buried myself in 3 feet of muck and water. After winching out I restarted and went...NOWHERE !!!! I figured my belt was wet so we waited, and waited, and waited about 1/2 an hour. Still I went nowhere. As this has never happened to me before I didn't know about the drain plug in the clutch case. I found it as I was looking around it to see if I broke something else. Of course after I drained it I was fine. Is this common? Do I maybe have a bad seal on the clutch cover to allow so much water in?

Sounds like you do have a bad seal. If it happens again.....put it in neutral and rev it up. I have done this and it works after a couple of minutes. Hope you find the problem. Oh....by the way...welcome to the forums.

if you splash into a puddle/pond too fast water will splash into the PVT air inlet, if you went slow your seal may be crossed or out of place when the cover was installed.
drain and rev in N for a few like mentioned above to dry.
