Default 2006 450R transmission ratio

Hey guys,
Just got my issue of ATVSport today and inside is a article about the new updated Honda Quads. Well Honda just might have saved a coustomer with the changes they have made. I have been thinking about getting a Yamaha or Suzuki until today when I read some of the changes they have made with the 450R. I have one question if anyone can help me with. In this article about the 450 it says "The transmission ratios have been changed from racing and trail use". I guess what I would like to know are they giving you a choice on which trans you want or have they just gone to a more trail freindly trans. I know a lot of guys that complain about the tall 1st gear for (tight) trail riding. Also you can get it with kick start or eletric. I'm just wondering if the kick start quad comes with taller (racing MX) gears and the eletric comes with a trail riding gears. Any light on this subject would be great and can anyone tell me when the dealers will have the 06's on there showroom floors.

Does anyone have the gear ratio numbers for the 05 450R and the 06 450R. Example my 400EX is 1st 2.916 (12/35), 2nd 1.937 (16/31) and so on. These numbers are strait from my O.E. Honda service manual.

Thank you in advance.

No, I'm pretty sure both the electric start and kick have the same lower gear ratios.

I think what the mag ment was that the tranny was changed from race (taller gears) to more trail friendly (shorter gears) tranny.

the mag says that the tranny it more race and trail friendly not just trail. they gave it better spaces between gears instead of haveing that tall first gear.
