Default Need HELP with tire & wheel selection for H1

I bought 27" mudlites for my H1. The dealer that I bought them from did not have any rims to fit the Arctic Cats. He has ordered 4 of the 12" ITP series 7 rims. The impression I got was that all 4 rims are the same (front and back). Does this sound right? Looking at what I have now the front and back rims look like they are different. I bought 12" for the back and 10" for the front. If the rims are the same, will the back tires stick out further than the front tires? Is this normal? Or should I use all 10" or 12" to keep the front and back aligned? Or stay with the 10s in the front and 12s in the back? Thanks for your feedback.

Hmmm, I think all four rims are the same, just the tire size that makes the fronts smaller.

The wheels are different. Fronts are 6.5" wide and the rears are 8" wide. Both are 12" diameter.

I mounted my new 27" Mudlites on 12" series 7 rims today. Looks sweet. The rims have the same offset all the way around. ITP only has 1 rim for arctic cat (same rim on the front and the back). The 12" tires in the back stick out 1" further than the 10" front tires due to the increase in width, but the rims line up fine. Overall, the new wheel / tire setup has a wider stance than the OEM setup. I took one quick spin around the yard and noticed a small decrease in power - an expected result.

I would think the H1 would turn 27" tires with little or no power loss. Was it a very noticable amount?

yep, you'll notice a power loss on anything with bigger tires. Just won't be as drastic on the bigger quads. The independant models all use the same offset. For an older ACT, you would have to go with a Delta steel rim to get the offset correct for the rear.

Its going to take one heck of a tire to lose power on a cat 650, you should even notice.
