Need help, SP800 or BRP 800.

Hello all,
I am getting ready to buy a new ATV in the next 2 weeks. I am looking at the Polaris SP800 and the BRP 800 Outlander. I need some help deciding what would be the best choice.
I went this past weekend and looked at the SP 800, its a super nice bike. I also went to see the BRP but the local dealer does not have the outlander 800 in yet, it will be 2 weeks.
I know I have read a lot of hype about the BRP and im sure a lot of it is true, it looks like a great machine. I know that locally where I ride almost everyone has polaris bikes, i know they can handle the type of riding I will be doing I just dont want to look back 2 months down the road and regret getting the SP800 because the BRP turns out to be the best ATV ever.
I am seriously leaning towards the SP800 but I am really open to the BRP also.
Im hoping some members here that have a decent amount of seat time on both bikes will give me some imput.
I also want to know if there were any problems with the 2005 SP800s. I am sure I can get a better deal on a left over 2005, but I dont want to get a bike that might have had some major design problems since it was the 800s first year.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Give the Bomb a try . Whats your dealer warr. on the bomb? Polaris is 6 mo. and proves useless when you need cust support. I have 860 miles on mine and it has been a nightmare. Poor design in the chassis and the "greased for life" plastic bushings are showing wear already.WITH NO GREASE FITTINGS TO HELP. They removed them. Brake failure, parts falling off, 2 boots replaced, motor not aligned right out of the box. etc. Forget the 'sealed storage' on the poo. It will leak mud all over your stuff and **** you off anyway. Give Bomb a call and ask about the warr. Sounds like they stand behind their product with more confidence. My 2c

If you want the best of the best get the bomb 800, it's lighter(639lbs), quite a bit more powerful, and it just has a lot to offer, I had a sportsman 400 and I thought it was far to heavy for a quad at 700lbs and the sp800 weighs 760lbs dry and I had quite a few annoyances, as of right now the Bomb 800 is THE BEST BIG-BORE UTE on the market and it will be for a while. And the Bomb 800 has a 3yr warrenty..compared to Polaris' 6 months.

The BRP is a true 800, the Polaris is a 760. Go to BRP.com and check out the video advertisement, it shows the Bomb agains the Brute Force 750 and the SP800. In the drag race it beat the SP badly, in the sled pull, it pulled 40 feet further in the mud bog the SP was 7 seconds slower then the Bomb. Some people think the video is fixed, use your own judgement. You probably can't get a better engine then the Rotax. The two are pretty close in features, the SP might have a bit of a better ride but the BRP IRS can't be beat, best on the market. They both feature similar 4WD and single braking lever systems. The BRP is over a 100 lbs lighter (which I think is significant). The Bomb also has an ESS (encoded security system) which means it can't be started without your key and only the registered owner can order keys through the dealer, a clever theif might find a way around this but they would have to be pretty organized.
Get this, in all the above challenges the only competition for the 800 was the 800 max with TWO riders. It edged out the Kawi in a drag race and beat the Polaris easily. The 800 and MAX feature the exact same engine/power ratio.
Oh, and BRP is offering a FIVE year warranty as opposed to 6 mos. with Polaris..........That is quite significant.

For me,this is a no braineer..I've test drove both the 800 Polaris and the new Bomb 800..The Bombs power is very appearant, the PoPo feels like your driving a bus in comparison..
I have a new Bomb 2-seater on order.

I was going to buy a Polaris 700, almost signed, but wanted a bit more time to think, then I saw an add for the Bomb at sams, with a 5 pct discount for memebers. I thought what the heck, went over to ride it, and the difference in ride, stability, power, and everything else was amazing. I now have the bomb in my garage. The only cons I can think of, is that you can buy more aftermarket parts for the Polaris, and with the info I have heard about the Polaris 800 melting , I guess you might need it .
I have been looking at the Polaris for years, but one ride on the Bomb changed everything.
800 Bomb and to many other toys to mention
I used to have a 81 toyota sr5 4x4, which absolutely went anywhere. My wife named the truck (same yellow as the bomb) Sparky Sunshine, and she never let us down. My bomb now has the name, and I feel the same way about the bomb as I did about my truck.

In colorado springs sams, they had a display of Bombadier atv's with the dealer name, and if you were a sams club member the dealer would give you a discount. I was about 5 percent, and that and the low tax rate where I live (in the mountains and just around 4 percent lower than where the dealer ship is, that ended up to a nice discount. They delivered it to my house, which meant the difference between a 7.5 pct and 2.7 pct sales tax.

They also give you a 15 pct discount on any extra purchases you make when you buy the atv there. Racks, hitches, snow plow... good for as long as you own the atv
so that helped too. I can't say that I got the best deal in the US, but considering that the Polaris dealer where I live doesn't discount anything It was expensive, but the differenece that "I" felt between the two atv's was night and day. I just felt so much more stable on the Outlander even with out the power. and it was a great deal smoother riding. I'm sure that the Polaris 700 is a good machine, as I said, I have been looking at it where I live for years, and if the outlander had not come out, I probably would have bought one. I have heard so many issue with the Polaris 800 especially melting that I am glad I didn't get that one.
As I live in the Pikes Peak Forest, in Colorado, there is a lot of open space to ride in. I was hoping that I could use it to climb the mountain in my back yard, as it goes right into the national forest, but I think the slope is going to be beyond my personal capacity. It's STEEEEEEEP at the top
