Default Hows a banshee at jumping

hey everyone, I was looking to buy a banshee. The only thing im worried about is how they jump. I know their kind of heavy even in the front end. Does the front end just sink right when you hit the air or are they pretty good at jumping like yamaha 450's ect? Maybe banshee's are just made for speed and not jumping at all? any help would be great before i purchase one. thanks

Not as bad as some may have you believe, but not in the same caliber as the 450 either. You don't want to come up short on a 25' tabletop, the suspension is not the best for that, but on a smooth transitional, not a problem. In my limited experience, I didn;t notice it having any odd characteristics or feeling squarrly in the air.

Yup, stock suspension sucks on the shee. They jump all right, just don't blow the landing! Last weekend I was riding at the track and took my brothers 450 for a few laps. Ran out of gas over a jump and landed pretty hard nose first. With the YFZ, it was still a pretty plush landing, no pain involved. On the Banshee however, I would have been in some pain(especially wrists) from the same landing.

thanks for the reply. So it sounds like the weights not an issue its just the suspension? And if this is correct do you have any advice on how to make it an awsome jumper like a 450? Thanks

thanks for the response. After adding the suspension upgrade to your banshee would you say its just as good jumping, from take off, in the air and landing as a yamaha or honda 450? Thanks for any help

Well, I think the only 2 stroke to be in the same league as the 450's jumping would be one of the 250's with suspension upgrades. There is probably a reason you don't see many Banshees in FMX You can still have a lot of fun jumping a well set up Shee, and there is a lot more to the Shee experience as well.
