Can anyone help me? I have a 2004 250ex with a blown engine. I found a 2001 250ex engine and I just need to know if it is the same. It appears to me that it will work but I wondered if anyone had any experience with this. Thanks for any help.

 

How did you blow it?

IT is the same motor. The only thing different since 97 is the head on the recon in 2001.

 

I didn't blow it....my girlfriends son did when he buried it in a deep mud hole and drove it home with a crankcase full of water and mud. Thanks for the info. Now maybe I can get it back on the trails.
