Does anyone know how long it takes to get parts to fix my starting gears? I've tried the BMW site that many of you have recommended, but they told me it would be 3-4 weeks out[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] Anyone have any other ideas. I don't know for sure what all I need, but I for sure need the 11/52 gear, but haven't pulled the magneto yet to check everything else out

Going to the dunes in less than 2 weeks and I'm real worried my local dealers won't be able to get me the parts in time.

 

if your dealer finds some in the states for about 30 bucks you can have them overnighted. it cost me 25 to get a cdi box overnighted.

 

Hey Dingo. Make sure you check the other gear next to the 11/52 gear. Mine had 1 tooth that was bent so little it was noticeable until I spun the gears by hand without the flywheel on. Make sure they spin 360 degrees with no binding. If they bind the gear has a bent tooth. I also pm you some other places that might have them parts quicker. Later, D

 

Mrneg9..thanks for your help on the gear problem I'm having..Got in touch with Elliot at Woods Racing and believe it or not, he had the gear I needed on his shelf! He's going to overnight it to me..should have it tomorrow!

 

Thats great. I got my flywheel puller also from RWR. You have to look around when buying things though. RWR wanted $276.00 for the sprag clutch. I got it from A@S BMW for $96.00. Big difference. Later, D
