go to any auto parts store that sells them, and buy the K&N Recharge Kit. It has two bottles, one is a cleaner, the other is the oil. You spray the cleaner on it till its soaked, let it sit for 15 minutes, then wash it out with a garden hose or faucet. Repeat if necessary. Then let it sit and air dry COMPLETELY. Then you spray the oil into it till it's evenly coated, then it's good to go.

Exactly what he said. Dont use heat to dry it, it may shrink the cotton leaving you venerable, dont use compressed air either. Air dry in a warm place overnight and your good to go.

Or go buy a foam filter that will actually stop debris from entering your motor

Jason has a point.

K&N filter are over rated and sell well mainly due to marketing. I have done multiple dyno tests with Harley Davidson motorcycles with the stock filter and then with a K&N, and then with a K&N and free flow exhausts. The K&N filter yielded only an average of a 2.2% increase in power and a maximum of a 3.65% increase. In other words, it's a trivial advantage for less protection. He's correct that the foam filter is superior in trapping dirt and particles.

You can't have both. Great protection AND a free flow. Choose one or the other. For only and 2.2% power increase, I'll take the foam protection.

Agree'd.. K&N's flow pretty well but tend to let small particles in. UNI is the way to go.
