Ceramic Coater in Logan, UT area?
#3
I was going to suggest the same, I have not used this very facility but did have my turbo pipes HPC coated and was very pleased with the results- stuff looks great and is tough as nails.

Is this the closest place? That is about 2 hours from my house and with fuel prices what they are I was hoping to find something a little closer to home. How bout a chromer?

it would be cheaper to send the pipe by ups than to drive, chrome won't hold up to the high exhaust temp if you looking at putting it on the header or mid pipe, the can would hold up to chrome but that's about it

Well, from my experience with ceramic coating, it won't hold up on the headers either. When I had my DS someone donated the headers and mid pipe for the RWR exhaust. The coating was very dull, so I had them re-coated, they looked great, but only for awhile. The headers just couldn't stand up to the heat. I do remember one of our forum members(OregonDunePatrol) had his pipe nickel coated, maybe you can PM him and ask about it.

HPC coating is not ceramic coating it is a different type of coating that will hold up to the extream temps that the head pipe will see. They do a lot of snowmobile pipes infact I am thinking of getting my twin pipes for my 800 done there. It is a very good looking coating as well.

So if ceramic coating doesnt work on pipes than what do they use on t-6's for banshees? So you finally moved up here new bomber how are you liking it? A bit coolder than your use to im sure.

Chrome and Nickel plating will work. It will turn it blue from the heat till about the midpipe, same on most all pipes. The coating will be coming off my pipe for chrome next year. There is a place in Ogden that will be doing some work for me shortly that does a decent job and are reasonable. I'll pm you there info.
