Default fan motor

i have a 2003 AC500 manual and the fan motor has quit working. I believe it is a bad switch but haven't checked yet. If this is the case i thought about just direct connecting the fan to the battery , has anyone else done this? Or possibly just removing the fan altogether?.........thanks

You don't want to remove your fan or you are going to overheat, you can run fan direct. First I would check coolant level, if low then sensor will not turn fan on. Check for current at radiator sensor, if you have current here then you can jumper wires to see if fan works. If fan runs you have sensor problem, if not the check wiring and fan motor. If you don't have current at sensor then check fuses and wiring to that point.

The old 500 (2000 model I think) were direct with out sensor so It will be OK your fan will run anytime the Ignition switch is on. Check for current first so you don't do anything that you don't need to.
