The 2006 450r is sweet,but the 2005 450r was sweet also,so these new models are gonna be so much better.I think they will still have the hrc kit or some kind of aftermarket hop up for it.

 

Yes, an HRC kit is available for the '06 and it is claimed to bump the hp to 50. I'm about to sell my 295R so I'll have a nice down payment an '06 450R.

No, there is a kit that you can purchase seperately that comes with a header pipe, cam, new gaskets,CDI harness, main jet, needle jet, and accelerator pump.

 

The '06 spec 450R should have been released in '04. I think Honda finally got it right, now the only thing left is to see how it stacks up with the new YFZ and Quadracer.

i agree. let's see.... estart, longer swingarm, better front geometry, better shocks, more compression, FCR carb, changed the transmission, (i still think it would do better with a 6th gear but..) etc..etc..
they fixed everything on my list of complaints...and built the bike they should have built in 04 like you said. this one seems more like sincere effort on honda's part to produce a true competitive model...

but i like the 04/05 light better. i know alot of people hate it, but so be it.

the YFZ got alot of changes too...but the quadracer is going to be the one to watch. my 450R is almost paid for....at that time it might get pretty tempting to sell and get an 06R or new YFZ or QR450...wouldnt mind taking a spin on the 700R raptor either, but i think the 07 model of that one will be better.

im glad all these new bikes are coming out. competition. it only means better stuff for us to choose from.

 

I totally agree. I think Honda did an excellent job on the 06. I also like the changes Yamaha did to the YFZ although I'd probably still by the Honda.
Suzuki had a big hit with their Z400 but I can't see them selling a lot of LTRs unless they make some changes. I know its a purpose built quad but GEEZ!!!!....ITS 49" WIDE! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

i love my 2006 450R. it handles awsome on the track. i have mxr4s all around, cmf end cap with lid opend and crf needle with 185 main jet. it runs pretty good. my HRC kit should be here any day now. the kit comes with the CRF cam,cdi harness to increase the rpm 1000rpm, over sized header like the crf, different jets needle flow jet, different exhaust baffle. its supposed to increase the horse power to 50horse. it should run awsome.
