Need Help with new KFX 80
#1
Hi, just purchased the KFX 80 and need to know how to take off all the restrictors, the throttle limiter valve screw is so tight, what to use to unscrew? Dont want to strip the screw, what do I look for after I take off the valve, dont want to lose any parts. The other restrictor is in the exhaust at the front right, it's like a washer correct? Is this the only thing that will come out after removing exhaust? The exhaust just bolts back on without any leaks correct? Just want to take those things off for more power for him, but it's still breaking in, should I wait for after the break-in time to remove the restrictors? Thanks in advance and please be detailed when explaining, Iam not a pro mechanic here by far.

I aint got a clue to the valve you speak of, so we'll work around that.
Follow the throttle cable to the carb. You want to unscrew the carb top with big pliers. You then pull up on the cable and the slide will come out. Between the slide and the top, there will be a brass ring. That is the restrictor. Remove that. I don't believe you will have to remove the cable from the slide to get the brass ring out, but you may have to.
This isn't no rocket science here, but don't ya have a buddy that has taken the top of a carb off before? It may help.
The exhaust is as you stated, a washer type thing. You should be able to handle that no problemo.
All mini exhausts leak a lil, don't get excited when you notice yours start leaking.
