Default BRP 800 test ride today

The local Polaris Dealer here also deals Bombadier's. While waiting on service today, I was given the chance to test ride one of the new 800 animals. Low end torque and power in general is awesome. Too much to be honest. The throttle is too touchy. Least bit of throttle and the front wheels are off the ground. Plastic looks very cheap, have always to me, but for almost $10k I was looking for a little more. The dealer told me they liked the power of the engine, but the bike was not enough to handle it. They said the front springs are too soft, comes with cheap rims, not enough storage, winch mounting is too low, and has a very weak frame and undercarriage. They said the perfect setup would be the Bomb engine in the polaris bike. I asked them their preference, and they said the extra 40cc wasn't enough for them to reccommend it to anyone, unless it's just what that individual wanted. They said they have already sent several complaints or suggestions to BRP about this quad. As a matter of fact BRP is having to replace all the 800's front springs because of so many dealer complaints.

HTH do they figure that the frame is weak?? Its the same frame as the outty 400 and NEVER did I hear the frame was weak. Now all of a sudden its a weak POS frame because it holds an 800 instead of a 400? Hmmm I call BS on this one. The competition must be really scared out there to be bring His Holyness's army out. First Pastor's and now the Pope. Good call Powerstroke.

Plastic cheap? Im pretty sure its about the same as polaris. Its plastic how great do you want it to be. It seems the people who dont like BRP have to pick apart this machine. The littest things people complain about.

Good one! Lets face it Polaris has a good ride, but most dealers carry 3 times the parts for a reason. Plus the 800 is 770 lbs, no good for mud. The plastic is no worse than any other quad. Sounds like crap to me!!

it sure is funny this guy comes on here and dogs the bomb. Poop, i mean ppope, where did you get the $10k price? My boss just bought his for $8300 and the retail price is 8599 which is the exact same retail price as the polaris 800. The plastic isnt any different than any other bikes plastic. The new dual rate springs bomb is putting on for FREE as an update is a nice upgrade but i feel the stock single rate springs are fine, maybe with the winch and bumper up front it makes it a little soft. And how about the 5 year warranty bombardier is offering. Cant beat that, no other brand even comes close to that offer. I have an 05 outlander 400 too i just bought and got the 5 year warranty. I'd like to see a polaris 5 years down the road with 4000 or more miles on it.

What do you mean by least little bit of throttle and the front comes off the ground? I went and test rode one after I heard all of the hype, no way could I get the front end to come up, and I was on dry pavement. Maybe in low range, but not in high. No offense to Bomb, but I will stick with my KQ.
