what do you mean no one has ridden one yet. ive had mine for just over a month now. i really like it a lot. it you want a quad with the best exceleration and speed buy the YFZ450. the honda goes preaty good but it doesnt have the hp the yamaha has. dont get me wrong im not nocking the honda im just stating true facts. ive now owned both and can tell you that if you dont do some work to the honda like a cam, pipe, and air box mods then it not come even close in the power depatment. again dont get me wrong a honda might go just as fast down the road but its not going to have that arm yanking excelleration that a yamaha 450 supples you with.

It's hard to say how long it will last. How long it last depends on how hard you ride and how well you take care of it. If you are just wanting something to play around on and do wheelies with, that quad might not be the right choice. The new 450's are designed for racing and do it well, I know of several local people that are riding the 450's and most of them complain about the way they ride, I mean they complain about not being comfortable on them. I myself have not ridden and have no need to since the only reason I would want to ride one is to see how powerfull they are and to be honest until I get to ride a new 700r rapter I probably won't get much thrills out of the 450's. If you want a fast quad that might ride a little softer, I would try the new 700r rapter. Or better yet if you are only gonna ride it around the house and once in awhile out on some trails then I would go with a z400 susuki or kfx400 kawasaki or arctic cat dvx400, wich these are all the same quad with just a susuki power plant. This is only an opinion, so my real suggestion is to ride a few out there and compare with what you really want out of a quad. Good luck.

We got one of the first 04 450r's in AZ. It has had the HRC kit since new with the addition of an air box eliminator kit and Pulse charger pipe. My son has raced this quad hard in the Glamis dunes with extreme haulers. 2nd gear full throttle launches on Olds Hill. The only thing that has had to be replaced was the clutch. People were worried about how well it would hold up when it came out. It still runs perfectly.
I just got an 06 450r for my other son. I love this bike! We are taking it to Glamis for halloween.

I could not sell your parents one, knowing you are under 16.
Per Honda
Good luck kid, the 450R is heart attack serious.

The Z motor is solid, but the frame is weak. I have seen racers and recreational riders break frames frequently. I can point out about 3 instances when I have been to an FTR harescramble and a Z400/KFX400/DVX has come limping back to the pits with a broken shock mount. I just hope Zuki built the LT-R frame stronger.
