hey guys I was just thinking of putting tire chains on my suzuki for the winter because i got some grass racing tires on the back that don't have too much grip in snow/mud I was wondering if anyone runs tire chains?

 

i had them on my blaster last year and they made the world of a difference. i would do it if i were you, they are well worth it.

 

did you make them your self or buy them?

 

i kno you can buy them precut for the stock tire size for most quads from rockymountain atv/mc, but i just made my own, i took some made for a bobcat and just used bolt cutters and the welder to make them smaller, also lawn tractor chains might fit on ur tires so if you know someone who might have a set than try them out.

 

well I work at my cousins welding shop do I think i'll make my own and make the chain rough so it'll stick into ice better

 

anyone know where i can buy some? me and my buddies are going to want to go campin this winter for kicks and giggles and the hill to get down my campsite just gets iced over and i think i'll want a pair for our magnum...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

about 45 bucks for the front and another 35 for the read, all you do is buy it by what quads you have and the magnum should be there.

 

you can also go to your local lawn mower dealer and get chains for a mower, Just tell them what size tire you are running and they should be able to hook you up.

 

ah i think lawn mower chains would be so small i am thinking of some pretty thick chains

 

How thick are you talking? like logging chain thick?

The mower chains we have have twisted links going across the tread and each link has a v shaped piece of metal welded to it for ultimate bite. They are not huge but they will push our heavy mower up any grassy hill as long as you have enough ***** to try [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
