Wilma schmilma!

I'm going racing!
I can't belive another frigging hurricane is coming right at us. The race is in the panhandle just outside Tallahassee. So in a way I would be evacuating. (now if I could only convince FEMA to pay for my trip!!) The line they have shows it (Wilma) exiting Florida right where my house is. Straight East of Lake Okeechobee.
This is the first Quad only series of our club. We were expecting about 150-200 entries at $40 a head. Just about enough to break even for what it costs to put it on. So it is important to go. This storm is already taking our members that are civil servants (fireman, police) and their kids.
I just wish it wasn't so far away from my house. It's a 6 hr drive.
I just went to fill up my truck with fuel. I got lucky. A tanker had just left when I got there so I didn't have to wait AND was able to get the cheap stuff. That is always the first to go. If you wait to long, all thats left is premium. We are paying about $3.10 - $3.25 gal. for premium.
I figure I'll be back home late Sunday night. Whoo Hoo Hurricane party!! Just kidding. They suck. No power. No shower. No AC. Food is limited to camp style. Sucks. Sucks. Sucks. There's already no water and no bread. Everybody is freaking out.
Anyway, the DS is running pretty damn good, considering all the beating on this basically stock machine. I anticipate a wet course if not raining. Should be an crap weekend camping out of a tent in the rain. My cot will at least keep me off the ground.
I will take pictures.

Holy crap, my power came back on today. Wilma kicked our ***.
It's been crazy down here. People don't even know how to do a 4 way stop. Between the Yankee transplants and the illegals, it is a driving nightmare! Not bashing-just saying. Lot's of fights down here. Road rage. I am discusted with humanity here. The complaing is beyond imagination.
I got home just in time to write that last post, get about 4 hrs sleep and wham! power out Monday morning. Tonight is Friday. Once again trees and powerpoles snapped in ways that seem impossible. Just goes to show the strength. Miles of powerlines snapped off about 15' up from the ground. That goes for concrete poles, too.
You see my house in the background of some of my pics. That is a building the gov't. built in the 40's to store stuff in. It held up pretty good. It was shaking pretty good during the first hit. Then the eye came over and everything was pretty good. I was out clearing up the debris before the back side came. Gotta get rid of as much debris as possible to keep projectile events down if possible.
My dog was shaking and would not leave my side. Then it got real calm and you could see blue sky. Then it got a little cloudy. Then you could see to the West this wall of storm coming and it was moving really fast! It came on fast and all of a sudden it was just like going 100mph in a truck bed and standing up. I had my place boarded it up and my house bucked for an hour!! Scared the s out of me. All of the covering for the underneath of my raised house is gone. All the trees are damn near naked. It's sad in a way. Not if you need work though.
Okay, what is sad is my 2nd place. There was only 3 in my class. I gotta keep it real.
For our inaugural series kick-off, we had this storm keeping most at home. So it really doesn't feel that good. The one's who were there are two of the sickest riders. Last years champ and #3. Out of the hole we were all right together. #76 got the holeshot followed by me then #3. Somebody got the video but I don't know how to get it into my computer.
Anyway #76 crashed and I had it for a little while. I got into some tight stuff and #3 went around and I never saw him again. Nor did I see #76 again. He ended up crashing trying to catch up and was DNF.
So, 2nd place trophy. For Big B. Not the way I wanted to get one. But I am a Miami Dolphan so anything close to a win is okay with me!
Okay got to start cleaning up my house. It's a wreck inside.
