What sport ATV is best for trail riding?
#1
Well, I have (2) 660 Grizzly's and I like em' but I just want something to play around with. I was looking at the Raptor 350, Raptor 660, Raptor 700, YZF450, and 400EX. I'm not new to riding, and I want something that I can take trail riding, and do a few jumps with. I would also like to ride in the sand dunes every once in a while, i've never ridden the dunes, and it seems its one of the most fun places to ride. What would you guys recommend...I am leaning toward the Raptor 660 or 700.

I don't think you could go wrong with either of the Raptors. 700 may be a better choice between the 2 as it ergos are better, from what I understand. On the other side of the coin though, 700 is pretty limited on the mods available for it, but that is changing quickly. The Raptors should be excellent in any of the riding conditions you mention.

Whatever bike I end up getting, I want it to be brand new so I know it wasn't beat up and abused. Do some dealerships still have brand new 05's? Is the 700 that much better than the 660? The 660 is carburated and the 700 is fuel injected correct, how do they compare? I'll definatly end up modding it if that matters.

The new 700 seems like it is going to be a great package for the trailrider, albeit a bit $$ compared to something like a Z. The YFZ will be just as fast, but not as comfy as the Rap. 700. The 350 would be a good play bike also, but I get the feeling you might want a bit more power.

I think the 350 would be too small for what I want. I guess it all depends on how cheap I can find a 660 or 700 for. What should I plan on paying for a 05' 660 if I find a dealership with a new one? What about an 06' 700?

Mostly I like the suspension/frame upgrades on the 700. You should be able to get the 660 for quite a bit less money though. Should still be easy to find on 05 model as well.
