Default nessescary?

are nerf bars nessescary? And are the stock Yfz 450 skid plates strong enough to protect the enginE?

i think nerfs are personal prefernce. hey so are you planning to buy the 06 yfz or banshee[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

Nerf bars arent for engine protection...

They will stop another vehicle (ATV or other) from smashing your leg. Or power slide into a tree. Also good to prevent your foot from coming off the pegs and under the back tire. Nice place to rest your feet during a cruise and at a rest stop.

Get the nerfs, peace of mind is a great thing.

They aren't really, but if you even think your foot will come off the peg while riding, it's a very worthwhile investment. When the foot comes off and slips under the rear tire, it can pull you off. If you're not going to get nerfs, make sure you get a very good pair of boots. It'll save your ankles a lot of pain.

ive seen some pretty nasty leg gouges that most definatly been prevented if they had nerf bars,,,,also after each one,they put nerf bars on

the question you need to ask yourself is,,,put them on now,,,,or after you see your leg bone

Yes, by March. Or maybe tommorow, when my mommie wins the lottery. I mean, what am i saying? ill get a Nissan Skyline GTR R34 v-spec II first before i even touch a quad so it wouldnt stop in production. (great car.)
