RCR pipe and clutch kit on '06 Trailblazer
#1
I just got the trailblazer 3 weeks ago. Haven't ridden it much, but I put the pipe on last weekend and have been working on the clutch this week. I did have to buy some snap ring pliers, but I managed to do the whole thing myself in about 3 or four hours.
Now it will wheelie easy from a standstill just by pushing the throttle.
The dealer promised to throw in a chain tensioner and free installation, but they didn't have it in stock when I bought it. How important is the chain tensioner? I plan to go riding this weekend.

oh.....its not that important. I would still go riding. A chain tensioner just keep a lot of tension on the chain, so when you get on the gas, your chain doesn't have to go through the stress of the motor putting tension on it(when there isn't tension to begin with).......It also serves a good purpose in jumping. If you jump, I really reccommend it Again, it keeps the chain tight, so when you land.....the chain doesn't stress when the suspension causes the chain to tighten......
If your chain happens to break do to the following it can get very expensive. I've had it happen to me.....not only will it leave you stranded, but will leave you with an empty wallet.

OK, I'll take it easy on the jumping till I get a tensioner then.
I know how to adjust the chain tension on my Blaster, it's pretty simply, but on the Polaris it's very different. Kind of hard to understand the manual. Is it pretty easy to adjust when I actually try it?

yeah......I don't know what year your quad is......but on the back...where the grease zerk is on the rear axle housing.......there are two bolts......loosen them up completely. Then you can either use some big waterpump pliers, and turn the aluminum housing......or use a screwdriver in the rear sprocket and rock the quad forward or backward......
The aluminum housing is an egg shaped thing......it allows the chain to tighten and loosen......
